I know this has been said ad -nauseum but the matchmaking system in Halo 4 is a huge joke for casual players such as myself. Now, to be fair, I am a medical student and my career doesn’t often allow me to game as much as I used to. In fact I only was able to start playing Halo 4 a couple of weeks ago. Also, since I usually play solo it’s impossible for me to ever compete with a team of players in full communication against me. I apologize for my rant but with that being said, is there no way for someone like myself to ever find matches that are competitive, or am I doomed to play with people who have no lives outside of their Xbox s and simply cannot lose? If the answer to that question is no, then it’s really unfortunate that has put together such a terrible system for multiplayer where you either start at launch with the rest of the pack or your left in the dust with no hopes of ever catching up. I’ve seriously had way more aggravation from this game than fun and I’m ready to throw the disc in the trash and never purchase another Halo game again. If you’re unhappy with not being good enough, get better.
Halo 4 Matchmaking is Ridiculous and Unfair
Halo: Reach Insider tests continue, as Industries today announced the details of the next session, which will bring the tests back over to the PC side following the Xbox One flight from earlier this month. ARENA- The arena is for the best of the best, or at least people with the interest of playing their ass off. The whole layout is that there are seasons, which last about a month, and in each season, you get placed in a division matching your skill level. The better you are, the higher your rating. The thing is, at the end of every season, everything resets. The records for the seasons will be saved on Bungie. This is to please the MLG type kids who either get bored and re-make another account, or for people who all-around stop playing, knowing that they are done for rank.
Bungie has clearly said that this is not for everyone, but people like myself will find this interesting aswell. Rather than force something on to us, the let us pick from a list of choices, and majority rules. The options are simple, yet satisfying. Remember though, this only changes your team, not the others. Active Roster- The active roster is a system where you can easily check what your friends are doing and do it a lot quicker too. The site loading velocity is amazing.

That actually seems like a pretty good reason. I played the last two levels of Halo 3 first due to a friend asking me to play with him, which is a bit unfortunate in retrospect. New Forge maps? Is that gonna be like Forge World V2?

When you complete a matchmade game your stats are recorded for the matchmaking playlist that you played in only. These stats are then used to calculate your experience for that playlist. If you’ve never played a game in that playlist you will have no level.

Halo: Reach PC impressions – janky but fun
Experience Halo: Reach like never before. Iconic in the Halo franchise, Halo: Reach is one of the most popular campaigns as it is a prequel to the original Halo game. Play as a super soldier Spartan as you and your squad attempt to fight a heroic yet hopeless battle to halt the brutal alien invaders. To really emphasize the fact that Halo:Reach is a direct prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved , the final scene of Halo: Reach fades into the opening scene of Halo: Combat Evolved perfectly.
While it may be up to debate among fans, Halo: Reach is most often considered a Classic Halo game.

Joining a match in progress is disabled for Arena matchmaking, but will still be available through Custom Games and in Warzone. The developer also noted that those who quit out of a game will lose and forfeit any REQ points, XP, and will suffer a temporary cooldown penalty in Arena matchmaking.

Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language. Install Steam. Store Page. Global Achievements. Seriously, I honestly don’t mind the aim assist, DMR overuse, firefight and campaign not counting bla bla bla all that stuff. Yes, I acknowledge that it is important stuff but I’m just a casual play, I know those things will get ironed out in time and I’m happy to sit through it while I blow of steam in Halo. However, what DOES infuriate me is that I don’t know if there is no system to balance teams in social or whether there is and it’s broken, but I am so very consistently getting teammates who have literal dog doo doo in their heads and have no idea how to play the game and no matter how well I play I cannot carry their sorry asses through matches.
Some screenshots for proof. Also, I know the most obvious solution is “get in a 4 stack and get a reliable team”. I don’t have friends on Steam that play consistently enough, let alone play Halo consistently enough. I am very painfully aware of how this can easily fix my situation if it were possible. Thanks for your patience if you read through my rant.
I’m seriously about to give this game a break for a bit but please give me a reason to keep playing as a casual player with no friends.
My customized Noble 6. The amount of options available to customize Firefight are amazing, if not, a bit daunting. Players can create a Firefight game that not only has a different number of rounds and goals, but also players have options like gravity, speed, skulls and more PER WAVE. This is in addition to the new generator defense variant as well.

So far Halo: Reach is a janky, but still-enjoyable experience on PC. Right now Halo: Reach is far from the optimized experience that Industries promised. It’s not a complete package and is missing many important features, like co-op campaign matchmaking, split-screen play, and basic progression schemes. But when it works, it transports you back to It’s not a full total recall type of situation–you have to squint past a bunch of flaws–but it’s good enough to keep you playing for hours and not realizing it.
No campaign co-op matchmaking – The original Reach had every type of play covered, whether you wanted to play solo, with friends, or randoms. It had campaign matchmaking a first for the Halo series to let randoms team up and take on the campaign together. Predictably, i has scrubbed this feature. Weird hit detection – There’s been multiple melee attacks that didn’t land that should’ve, especially in Firefight. Input lag – Yes, this is a thing. Sometimes you’ll hit a button and it doesn’t actually equate to an action right away.
It’s frustrating but hasn’t happened to me very often. When it does happen, you’re pissed. Wonky aiming – You have to compensate for the game’s wonky aiming.
